Quality Assurance Office Universitas Gadjah Mada (KJM UGM) was established on 27 November 2001 in accordance with the Rector’s Decree number 123/P/SK/Set.R/2001. KJM UGM in accordance with the decree founding the task to do :
- planning and implementating of the overall Quality Assurance System at the Universitas Gadjah Mada
- Making the necessary tools for the implementation of a Quality Assurance System
- Monitoring the implementation of a Quality Assurance System
- Auditing and evaluating of the implementation of quality assurance
- Reporting periodically on the implementation of the Quality Assurance System to Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Establishment KJM – UGM begins with activities related to improving the quality of learning , among others Teaching Improvement Workshop (TIW) 2001 Faculty of Engineering, Akta – 5, Applied Approach (AA), and PEKERTI. In addition, since 1999 until now UGM an active member in the ASEAN University Network on Higher Education for Quality Assurance (AUN – QA). Experience working with the AUN – QA and European Community in AUN Program, as well as Quality for Undergraduate Education Project (QUE – Project, 1998-2005) has given birth to the Office of Quality Assurance (KJM) in 2001.
Concept Quality Assurance System – Higher Education (SPM-PT) at UGM has been created and disseminated to all leaders, administrators, faculty, students, and staff and faculty at the university level in year 2002. From the results of evaluation of the implementation of the concept of socialization SPM-PT composed of academic documents (in the form of academic policy, academic standards, academic and draft regulations) and the quality of the document (in the form of quality manual and quality procedures) at the university level and faculty, as well as specifications and competencies of graduates level courses. The success of the preparation of the document because of the strong commitment of the leadership of UGM, and support personnel from the UGM internal auditors (who have been trained SPM-PT and Academic Internal Quality Audit (AMAI) UGM). The internal auditors as well as a driving force of the formation of the organization implementing SPM-PT Faculty in all faculties at UGM.
Training activities SPM-PT and AMAI first held on 18-24 October 2003, with the chief facilitator Assoc. Prof. Damrong Thawesaengskulthai of Chulalongkorn University of Thailand. Based on the completeness of documents and the organization has been drafting all SPM-PT UGM , then on October 11, 2004 declared the Implementation of the Comprehensive SPM-PT UGM Rector.
Up to 2013, there have been ten cycles of SPM-PT / SPMI and AMAI / AMI study programs S – 1, 5 – cycle SPM PT / SPMI and AMAI / AMI study programs S – 2, 4 cycle of SPM-PT / SPMI and AMAI / AMI study programs and Vocational S – 3, as well as three audit faculty.
KJM help drafting, UGM portfolio for institutional accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). After going through the assessment phase of the table (desk assessment) and a field assessment (site assessment) at the end of 2007, BAN – PT plenary meeting on March 7, 2008 decided Universitas Gadjah Mada Accredited A (Very Good).
From 2005 KJM assist the Directorate General of Higher Education as a training facilitator of SPM-PT / SPMI and AMAI / AMI for all universities in Indonesia. Until the year 2007, more than 700 colleges participated in the training.
